You may like to know that the construction work on the Promenade will be looking better this Summer! Blackpool Council have managed to get the construction company to complete the promenade from the South Pier to Central pier and clear their portacabins between the two in time for the Summer.

So we should have a great promenade for the Summer. The section from Central Pier to North pier should be finished for the Illuminations switch on night in 2010.

I cant wait for it to be finnished . although driving along yesterday I find it hard to believe it would be complete for the illuminations.
Would be nice if it was though.

I did say for the switchon 2010

At the moment they are also replacing the main sewer line along the prom so thats why the contraflow is in place. This work will also be suspended for the Summer. But they are working on the prom section from Central Pier to North pier all summer. So that will still look like a building site.

I haven't driven down past the Football ground lately but that work is supposed to be finished soon. This will provide nicer parking by the football ground.
Then next year (2010) they are supposed to start on the Yeadon Way end of the car park. It will supposedly have better access to the Pleasure Beach at the South end and generally be a bit greener with trees and landscaping.

So there is a lot of money being put into Blackpool hopefully it will pay off.

Oops sorry Pete I didnt see that . lol .
Certainly makes more sense, wasnt aware that yeadon way needed any more work doing thought it was complete.
The football ground area is coming together nicely now.

Are they going to do the beach from Cleveleys main road,where The Riverdance was ,to Bispham ?I havent heard anything,,,

Oh iI never thought of that GC . I do know they are putting some structure where the ferry was to enable some drainage work to be done, But wouldnt it be lovely to have that section of the beach done up. I love it down there.
