Blackpool Heritage Trams to become Museum on Prom
It has been announced today that when the new trams go into service in 2011 and 2012 the 'Heritage Trams' fleet will be reduced to 22 trams. So this is the illuminations trams and the some of the best historic trams such as the open sided, open top, balloon etc will be maintained and displayed in a new museum at Starr Gate next to the new tram shed.

So not only will Blackpool have nice new trams we will also have a Tram Museum. With working trams that will be running a service in busy times and during the Illuminations.

I think this is great news, what do you think?
Would a Tram Museum be good for Blackpool?

This is brilliant news. The best of both worlds. It will be lovely to see those historic trams in a permanent museum.
