Blackpool International Fireworks Competition
Top firework companies from around the globe will be invited to stage pyrotechnical displays, bringing an International flavour to Central Promenade during the opening weeks of Blackpool’s World Famous Illuminations season.
To out-shine their opponents, entrants must demonstrate cutting edge pyro-musical design with a display that represents the style or traditions of their country. Each competing company will launch fireworks particular to their homeland and showcase their own pyrotechnical expertise, to win the public vote.Competing Countries Sunday 31st August Germany Friday 5th September Scotland Friday 12th September Canada Friday 19th September China Friday 26th September Celebration Display and Winners Announcement
Build up will commence around 7.30pm Fireworks from approximately 8.30pm All displays subject to suitable weather conditions.

I hope they are as good as previous years,,we used to go up to the tops ,at kiddies corner in Cleveleys and watch the fireworks from there,,,only thing missing was the sound effects

I missed them ths year, didnt fancy the idea of standing in the bloomin rain, my daughter has seen some though she said they were fantastic!

Never mind, they'll soon be selling fieworks in the shops and you'll be getting your own personal bangers outide your house courteousy of the layabouts on the streets

I think this was an absolutely brilliant idea on Blackpool's part to get some brilliant firework displays which no doubt attracts more visitors.

Had it for a couple of years now willow.
The kids love it.........and obviously it's free!
I hate it coming up to November 5th though with the morons setting off fireworks in the street at least 6 weeks before the date.
They should just sell them from November the 4th to the 5th then it will cut down on accidents and noise.

You should try living round here! They go off all the time for whatever celebration (excuse) people can come up with! It's not as if they are even pretty ones, just bang, bang, bang and during daylight too.

Yes last one apart from the end of season Fireworks from the pleasure beach on 1st and 2nd Nov.
North Pier ones start at 8:30 ish...

just got back from Blackpool ,the fireworks were truely magnificent tonight
